Why We Created The Holiday Park Awards
The holiday park industry has evolved massively over the last few years.
Guest expectations are higher. Competition is stronger. Marketing has changed. Ownership has changed. Customer behaviour has changed.
Yet despite all of that, the sector is still filled with incredible operators, brilliant teams and innovative businesses quietly doing exceptional work every single day.
The Holiday Park Awards were created to shine a light on that.
To recognise the parks raising standards.
The teams delivering unforgettable experiences.
The businesses investing in people, innovation and long-term growth.
And the suppliers helping move the industry forwards behind the scenes.
Over the years, one thing became increasingly clear to us.
There are many excellent travel, tourism and hospitality awards across the UK. Some include categories that holiday parks can enter and achieve recognition within.
But those of us inside the holiday park sector know this industry is fundamentally different.
Holiday parks sit within a unique space that combines hospitality, tourism, ownership, entertainment, food & beverage, leisure, retail and long-term customer relationships — all within a single business model.
The holiday park sector operates within a completely unique environment, with challenges, operational demands and customer journeys that differ significantly from traditional hospitality or tourism businesses. It is an industry that requires constant adaptability, creative thinking and commercial innovation, and the level of work happening across the sector is often exceptional.
From ownership marketing and holiday home sales, to guest experience, entertainment, sustainability, technology and operational excellence, holiday parks require a level of versatility that few industries truly understand from the outside.
Yet historically, the sector has lacked a dedicated awards platform built specifically around those differences.
That’s exactly why the Holiday Park Awards were created.
These awards exist to properly recognise, acknowledge and celebrate the businesses, teams and suppliers helping push the UK holiday park industry forwards, on its own terms.
Because the people shaping this sector deserve awards built for their industry, not categories added as an afterthought elsewhere.
Our Values
Commercial Courage
The holiday park industry is evolving rapidly — and the businesses making the biggest impact are often the ones willing to think differently.
We celebrate parks, teams and suppliers prepared to challenge outdated thinking, invest in improvement and make bold commercial decisions that move the industry forwards.
Whether that’s embracing new technology, rethinking customer journeys, improving operations or investing in people, progress rarely comes from standing still.
People
Holiday parks are powered by people.
Behind every memorable stay, successful business and thriving park is a team of individuals working incredibly hard to deliver exceptional experiences.
From entertainers and grounds teams to marketers, housekeeping, leadership teams, food & beverage staff and ownership specialists — these awards exist to recognise the people shaping the industry every single day.
Because great parks are built by great people.
Integrity
Recognition should mean something.
That’s why the Holiday Park Awards are built around fairness, transparency and credibility at every stage of the process.
From clear judging criteria and independent industry insight, through to meaningful categories designed specifically for the sector, our goal is to create awards that are genuinely respected within the holiday park industry.
These are not “pay-to-win” awards.
They are awards designed to celebrate genuine achievement.
Progress
The future of the holiday park industry depends on businesses committed to raising standards and driving positive change.
We believe progress means continually improving the guest experience while building stronger, more sustainable and more inclusive businesses for the future.
That includes innovation in sustainability, greener operations, accessibility, equality, customer experience and the overall standards across the sector.
The parks shaping the future are the ones willing to evolve, not just commercially, but responsibly too.
Innovation
Innovation within the holiday park sector is often exceptional — and it deserves recognition.
We celebrate the businesses and individuals finding smarter, better and more creative ways to improve guest experience, operations, ownership, sustainability, communication and commercial performance.
Innovation doesn’t always have to be loud. Sometimes the most impactful ideas are the ones quietly transforming how parks operate behind the scenes.
