Not every guest wants, or is able, to manage their utilities through a phone. Metpow, a Gold Sponsor of the Holiday Park Awards, has introduced a self-service payment kiosk that gives guests another way to top up, check balances and pay on site.
Smart metering and guest apps can give visitors more visibility over their utility use, but having another way to manage an account is useful too. Some guests may not have their phone with them or may simply prefer to use a kiosk.
Metpow's self-service payment kiosk is designed to sit alongside its platform and customer app. According to Metpow, customers can use it to:
Top up utility accounts.
Check account balances.
View utility usage information.
Make payments quickly and securely.
Account information, balances and payments are synchronised in real time with the Metpow platform and app. Wall, floor and desk-mounted options allow operators to consider where a kiosk would best fit their site.
The kiosk is designed for holiday parks, marinas and leisure operators, giving guests and berth holders an additional way to manage their utility accounts.
Ed Jones, CEO at Metpow, describes it in the launch announcement as “a convenient and reliable way to top up, make payments and manage utilities”.
The app remains the primary way for customers to manage their accounts. The kiosk offers another option, with Metpow saying it is designed to reduce time spent handling payment queries, top-ups and utility-related administration. The potential benefit for operators is more staff time available for other guest needs; results will depend on how the system is used at each site.
Why this matters for parks
Good guest experience often comes down to making everyday tasks straightforward. Offering more than one way to pay can help parks accommodate different preferences, without requiring every guest to manage the transaction on their own phone.
For operators considering a kiosk, useful questions include how it connects with their existing systems, where it would be located and what help is available for guests who need support.
